On December 6, 2025, Don Bosco School, Nerul, hosted a powerful Biblical English Musical Play titled “Faithfulness of One Man of God – DANIEL.” Centred on the theme “Faith that Stands Firm – Lessons from Prophet Daniel,” the production sought to inspire audiences with the enduring values of courage, integrity, and unwavering trust in God. The play was presented by the Faith Family team, led by Mr Noel, whose direction and coordination brought the story vividly to life.
Organised in collaboration with the Don Bosco Management Team and the Association of Salesian Cooperators, the event proved to be a meaningful initiative during the holy season of Christmas. With a houseful crowd of over 300 people from all age groups, the evening carried an atmosphere of anticipation and devotion. The stage was of Don Bosco but the story was of global appeal bringing the best thoughts together.
The programme opened with a moving session of praise and worship conducted by Fr Allwyn Misquitta SDB, Spiritual Director of DBN, accompanied by Mr Prashant on the keyboard. Fr Barnabe D’Souza, Rector of Don Bosco Nerul, extended a warm welcome to all present. Also gracing the occasion were Fr Shekar Mariadas, Vice Principal and Administrator of DBN, and Mrs Kalyani Chaudhuri, Principal of DBN.
The musical play traced the life and times of the Prophet Daniel, portraying him—true to the Biblical narrative—as a young man of unwavering integrity. From his early years, Daniel is shown as one who chooses righteousness even when faced with immense pressure to compromise. Through his story, the audience was reminded of the importance of standing firm in one’s values at school, in the workplace, and within society. The message of choosing purity in thoughts, words, and relationships, and the courage to resist peer pressure, resonated strongly with the young and old alike.
Daniel’s deep life of prayer formed the heart of the narrative. His commitment to making prayer a daily discipline—and a first response rather than a last resort—was beautifully depicted. The iconic scene of Daniel in the Lion’s Den captured his unshakeable faith in God’s protection. His words, “My God sent His angel and shut the mouths of the lions,” served as a powerful reminder that God defends those who stand for what is right, even in the face of adversity.
The play also highlighted Daniel’s God-given gifts of wisdom and interpretation. He used his talents not for personal acclaim but for God’s greater glory. This encouraged the audience to recognise their own abilities—whether in music, leadership, acting, or service—and to use them with purpose and humility. Finally, Daniel’s prophetic visions reinforced the truth that earthly kingdoms rise and fall, but God’s kingdom endures forever.
The evening concluded with a strong message: faith is stronger than fear, and prayer unlocks miracles. The talented cast, supported by captivating lighting and visual backdrops, delivered a performance that was both spiritually enriching and visually enthralling. Fr Allwyn thanked the cast and Salesian Cooperators team for making the event a success with their efforts in promoting and organising the event.
