The Annual Sports Day of Savio Kindergarten, Yerwada was held on December 12, 2025. The event aimed at fostering physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among young learners, while also providing them a joyful platform to showcase their talents.
The programme began with a warm and respectful welcome extended to the dignitaries. The Chief Guest for the day was Mrs Enid Andrade, a retired Pre-Primary Supervisor.
The programme was smoothly and efficiently compered by Tr Anita and Tr Sheryl, who ensured a well-organized flow of events. The Chief Guest was formally introduced by Fr Glen Fernandes who highlighted her inspiring professional journey and dedication to early childhood education. Mrs Andrade has devoted her life to nurturing young minds and has served with distinction at Mount Carmel, Pune, as well as two reputed schools in Dubai.
The Sports Meet was officially declared open by the Chief Guest, marking the formal commencement of the day’s events. All section heads were present, lending their support and encouragement to the young participants. The programme began with a solemn prayer by Swarali Kala of Sr KG C, followed by the rendition of the Savio Anthem, instilling a sense of unity and pride among all present.
A well-coordinated and disciplined march past by the Sr KG and Jr KG students, guided by their respective class teachers and escorted by students from the secondary section, showcased discipline and teamwork. This was followed by a charming Welcome Dance by the Nursery students, which won the hearts of the audience. The programme continued with an impressive Mass Drill by the Jr KG and Sr KG students. Adding colour and energy to the event, the Sr KG students performed an Arabic dance, while the Jr KG students presented a lively Zumba performance, receiving loud applause from parents and guests.
The Torch Relay was conducted with great enthusiasm, with PTA members from each class participating actively. The torch was finally extinguished by Teacher Clara along with the Chief Guest, symbolizing unity, cooperation, and the true spirit of sportsmanship.
Various races were conducted for all sections. Sr KG and Jr KG students participated in track events, while Nursery students enjoyed fun races such as the Bunny and Carrot Race and the Ball Dragging Race. An additional activity titled “Collecting Vegetables in a Basket” had been conducted earlier and the winners were awarded certificates on Sports Day.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Tr Rina Chandekar expressing gratitude to the management, Chief Guest, teachers, parents and students for their cooperation and support. The Chief Guest officially declared the Sports Meet closed. The event concluded on a joyful note, leaving behind cherished memories and reinforcing the values of discipline, enthusiasm, and healthy competition among all participants.
