The Don Bosco Past Pupils Association (DBPPA) – Yerwada Unit announced the results of its Executive Committee elections for the 2025–2029 term on October 1, 2025. In a remarkable display of unity and commitment, the entire committee was elected unopposed. This outcome reflects the spirit of fraternity and shared mission that continues to guide the association.
The election process began with the issuance of the official election notice on September 18, 2025. Nominations were invited for ten committee posts, and by the closing date of September 30, 2025, a total of ten valid nominations had been received. The scrutiny of these nominations was conducted meticulously between October 1 to 4, 2025. Since the number of candidates equalled the number of available posts and no objections were raised within the stipulated time, all ten candidates were declared elected unopposed. Consequently, the polling process, originally scheduled for a later date, was not required.
The newly elected Office Bearers and Committee Members are as follows:
President: Mr Sandip Satav (Batch 1992–1993)
Secretary: Mrs Swati Patil (Batch 2000–2001)
Vice President: Mr William Salvi (Batch 2005–2006)
Vice President (GEX): Mr Joshua Lobo (Batch 2011–2012)
Treasurer: Mrs Manjusha Thorat (Batch 1994–1995)
Joint Treasurer: Mr Clinton Sagayam (Batch 2009–2010)
Members: Ms Nilofer Pathan (Batch 2003–2004); Ms Merelin Makasare (Batch 2011–2012); Ms Janet Francis (Batch 2012–2013); Ms Nancy Paul (Batch 2006–2007)
The election process was overseen by the Election Commission comprising Fr Glen Fernandes (Delegate), Ms Pauline Dias (Member), and Mr Madhan Nair (Unit Secretary). Their careful supervision ensured transparency, fairness, and adherence to the guidelines of the Past Pupils Federation.
Speaking on the announcement, the Commission appreciated the unity and cooperation displayed by the Past Pupils, noting that the smooth conduct of the process reflected the maturity and commitment of the association’s members. The newly elected body now takes on the responsibility of guiding the unit for the next four years in alignment with the ideals of Don Bosco.
The Yerwada Unit expressed heartfelt congratulations to all the elected members and extended its best wishes as they begin their new term of service. The committee aims to strengthen bonds among past pupils, promote activities for the welfare of society, and continue the mission of Don Bosco by reaching out especially to the young and the needy.
