On December 5, 2025, St. Dominic Savio High School, Andheri, pulsated with excitement as it hosted its much-anticipated Primary Annual Sports Festival 2025, a magnificent celebration of teamwork, healthy competition, sportsmanship, perseverance, and the indomitable spirit of its students.
The programme commenced with a warm and respectful welcome to the esteemed dignitaries. The Chief Guest, Fr Franco Pereira solemnly hoisted the school flag and officially declared the Primary Annual Sports Festival 2025–26 open. The Solemn Torch, carried proudly by students who had excelled in various sporting arenas, symbolised dedication, commitment, and achievement. This was followed by the Sportsman’s Prayer and the Sportsman’s Oath, pledging fairness, respect, and true spirit of the game.
A rhythmic and vibrant series of drill displays enchanted the audience. Primary students performed lively Zumba movements, followed by a graceful presentation by STDs 1 and 2. The STD I boys impressed spectators with a dynamic skating performance featuring the T-break, touch-the-toe, sit-on-skate, and a well-coordinated skating train. Students of STDs 3 and 4 added to the energy with their spirited performance.
In his keynote address, the Rector emphasised that true victory lies not just in winning medals but in competing with integrity, embracing mistakes, and rising with renewed hope. Reflecting the festival’s theme “Anchored in Hope,” he encouraged students to value perseverance, discipline, and regular physical activity.
The day unfolded with thrilling events such as cone relays, potato races, water relays, hula hoop challenges, sprint races, and the highly awaited relay race finals. The Parents and Teachers Event brought laughter, enthusiasm, and memorable participation, standing out as a highlight of the day.
The festival concluded with a dignified Closing Ceremony. Winners and runners-up from each class received well-deserved awards, and the Blue House proudly lifted the Overall Championship Trophy. The celebration drew to a close with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Principal Mrs Valerie Mascarenhas, followed by the National Anthem, marking the end of an inspiring and memorable sporting event.
The Primary Annual Sports Festival 2025 was not just a display of athletic excellence but a powerful reminder that with hope as an anchor, every challenge becomes a stepping stone to greatness.
