Beed, Maharashtra – In the aftermath of the devastating cloudburst on September 15, which caused severe flooding in several parts of Ashti Block, Beed District, Don Bosco Ahmednagar extended a compassionate hand to the affected families through a flood relief distribution drive in the Kada region.
The sudden cloudburst brought heavy loss to homes, farmlands, and livelihoods in the villages of Chincholi, Sheri, Takli, and Shirapur. Responding to this crisis, Don Bosco reached out to 110 flood-affected families, providing them with essential relief kits containing groceries, mats, chadars (bedsheets), and towels.
Before the distribution, Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra conducted a detailed assessment survey to identify the families most severely affected by the floods, ensuring that the aid reached those who needed it the most. The entire initiative was coordinated by Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra, reflecting its commitment to timely and targeted community support.
Adding a special touch to the effort, students from Don Bosco School not only contributed generously towards the relief work but also joined the field team during the distribution. Their presence brought warmth and youthful energy to the initiative.
One of the students, Harsha Patole, shared her moving experience:
“When I saw the families who lost everything still smiling and thanking us, I realized what true gratitude means. This experience has changed the way I look at life — giving is more powerful than having.”
Don Bosco Ahmednagar expressed heartfelt gratitude to all benefactors, teachers, students, and well-wishers whose generosity made the outreach possible.
The flood relief initiative in the Kada region stands as a living witness of love in action — embodying Don Bosco’s vision of faith translated into service, bringing hope, dignity, and solidarity to those most in need.
