Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul was blessed with the gracious visit of our Provincial, Fr Ashley Miranda, on December 16 & 17, 2025. The visit was marked by joy, reflection, and a renewed commitment to the Salesian mission of educating and accompanying the young.
The Provincial was accorded a warm and vibrant welcome by the Student Council of Class IX. Through confident words and respectful gestures, the students expressed their joy and gratitude, reflecting the leadership values and discipline nurtured within the school community.
Following the welcome, Fr Provincial was taken on a guided campus tour by the Student Council of Class VIII. He visited the Preparatory and Middle Stage classrooms, where he interacted informally with students and observed the teaching-learning process. Special attention was given to the school’s learning spaces, including the Composite Laboratory, Mathematics Laboratory, Indoor Games Room, and the Reading Area. These facilities highlighted the school’s emphasis on experiential learning, holistic development, and joyful engagement.
One of the highlights of the visit was the Value Education Programme presented by the students of Class V A and V B, titled “Nature’s Superheroes – The Bee and the Earthworm.” The programme began with a melodious Sanskrit prayer song, creating a serene and prayerful atmosphere and reinforcing the school’s constant focus on “Lokahitam”—doing good for humanity through actions, speech, and thoughts.
Through thoughtful narration, role play, poetry, and creative expression, the students beautifully conveyed lessons of teamwork, humility, hard work, and sustainability. The programme effectively linked environmental awareness with moral values, leaving a lasting impression on all present.
During the staff interaction, Fr Provincial addressed the teachers with warmth and wisdom. He spoke about kindness as the cornerstone of education and reminded educators of the joy and privilege of being teachers in the Salesian context. His words inspired the staff to continue being loving mentors and positive role models for the young entrusted to their care.
Fr. Provincial also interacted with the Oratory staff and students, appreciating their efforts in creating a welcoming and nurturing environment, especially for the less privileged. He later met the DB Stellar Academy staff, acknowledging their contribution to skill development and holistic formation. An enriching interaction with the Salesian Cooperators further highlighted the shared responsibility of the Salesian Family in carrying forward Don Bosco’s mission.
The visit concluded on December 17, 2025 with a morning assembly on the school grounds. The entire school community gathered in unity to pray and sing carols, making the occasion memorable and meaningful.
The Provincial visit proved to be a moment of affirmation and renewal, strengthening the school’s resolve to educate with reason, religion, and loving-kindness, true to the spirit of St John Bosco.
