Piloo Mody High School, Narukot, celebrated its 34th Annual Sports Day on November 21, 2025, with the inspiring theme "Pilgrims with the Young." The event commenced at 9 a.m., anchored by the energetic Mrs Saroj Madam, who guided the audience through a day filled with enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and pride.
The chief guest, Mr Charel Bharat Kumar Hiralal, a dedicated educator with 10 years of teaching experience and 16 years as a principal, graced the occasion. Currently serving as the Principal of P.M Shree Javahar Aashram Shala, Narukot since 2019, Mr Charel is known for his passion for organizing service-oriented activities for children. He was escorted by Fr Elson, Br Jerome, Fr Daresh, Fr Vinay, and the school Scouts.
The symbolic Torch Run, led by the Head Boy Abhishek Devda and Head Girl Rinkle Rathva accompanied by students from each team, marked the opening of the event. Fr Elson Barretto, Rector of Don Bosco, Narukot, welcomed Mr Charel and introduced him to the school. In his address, the chief guest emphasized the importance of sports in nurturing a child’s natural talents, praising Don Bosco’s contribution to the Panchmahal district. He declared the Sports Day open, urging students to embrace the spirit of unity and perseverance.
The program featured a vibrant prayer dance, invoking blessings for the event’s success. The meticulously marked grounds, fluttering flags, and colorful banners added to the festive atmosphere. Track and Field events, including the 100m, 200m, 400m races, relay, and tug-of-war, showcased the students’ athletic prowess. Judges worked diligently to record the scores, while Fr Daresh and Fr Vinay organized fun games for the Don Bosco Gujarati medium staff.
The highlight of the day was the prize distribution ceremony, where medals, trophies, and certificates were awarded to the winners, runners-up, and third-place holders. Abhishek, the school Head Boy, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, and Fr Daresh concluded the event with instructions for the students. The National Anthem echoed across the grounds, followed by refreshments for all attendees.
The 34th Annual Sports Day was a testament to Piloo Mody High School’s commitment to holistic development, blending academic excellence with physical fitness. The event not only celebrated talent but also instilled values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience in the students.
