Don Bosco High School, Kawant, has brought immense pride and honour to the Chhota Udepur District by securing first place at the State-Level Kala Mahakumbh with its outstanding Rathvi dance performance. This remarkable achievement is the result of months of dedication, disciplined practice, and the collective effort of students and teachers who worked tirelessly to uphold the school’s reputation for excellence in both academics and co-curricular activities.
The journey to the state-level victory began at the taluka level, where the Under-14 dance group of Don Bosco High School, Kawant, delivered a powerful and culturally rich Rathvi dance performance. Their authentic presentation, synchronization, and traditional expression impressed the judges, earning them first place and qualifying them for the district-level competition.
The district-level Kala Mahakumbh competition was hosted at Shri V. R. Shah School, where teams from across the district competed fiercely. Despite the strong competition, the Don Bosco team once again showcased exceptional skill, discipline, and cultural depth. Their performance stood out for its energy, rhythm, traditional costumes, and coordination. The judges unanimously awarded them first place, giving the school the honour of representing Chhota Udepur District at the zonal level.
The zonal-level competition was held on December 24, 2025 at Swami Narayan International School, Navsari. Competing against some of the best teams from various districts, the pressure was intense. However, the students remained focused and confident. Their performance once again captivated the audience and judges alike, earning them first position at the zonal level. This victory paved the way for their entry into the state-level Kala Mahakumbh.
The final state-level event was hosted on January 1, 2026 at Veer Narmada South Gujarat University, Surat. This prestigious platform brought together the most talented school teams from across Gujarat. Despite the long journey, physical fatigue, and mounting expectations, the Don Bosco High School, Kawant team gave their very best. With unwavering commitment and passion, they delivered a flawless Rathvi dance performance, once again securing first place at the state level and making the school, district, and entire region immensely proud.
A significant contribution to this success came from the dedicated trainers Sir Govind, Sir Ganesh, and Sir Deepak, who went far beyond their regular responsibilities. They trained the students with patience and perseverance, refined every movement, and ensured the authenticity of the dance form. Their commitment extended beyond training, as they accompanied the students to every competition venue, often traveling overnight, managing luggage, taking care of the children, and ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the journey.
The students themselves displayed extraordinary dedication. Balancing academics with rigorous practice sessions was no easy task, yet they managed their studies and co-curricular commitments with discipline and determination. Though the journey was long, hectic, and demanding, the children remained motivated and united, demonstrating true sportsmanship and cultural pride till their final performance.
In conclusion, the state-level victory at the Kala Mahakumbh stands as a shining example of Don Bosco High School, Kawant’s commitment to holistic education.
