Don Bosco High School and Junior College, Lonavla, successfully organised the Don Bosco Quiz Competition on January 30, 2026. The event was designed to deepen students’ understanding of the life, values, and lasting legacy of Saint John Bosco, while making learning engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable.
The programme aimed to promote learning through interactive and creative activities, while inspiring students with the teachings and contributions of Don Bosco. The event was carefully planned and efficiently coordinated by Teacher Anita and Teacher Kiran. Their dedication and systematic preparation ensured the smooth and disciplined conduct of the programme across all sections.
The quiz competition for students of Classes 7, 8, and 9 was conducted during the second and third periods in their respective classrooms. The sessions were held under the guidance and supervision of the class teachers. The quiz included several engaging rounds that tested students’ knowledge of Don Bosco’s life, his educational philosophy, and his historical importance. The format encouraged teamwork, alertness, and critical thinking, while keeping the students actively involved throughout the activity.
For students of Classes 5 and 6, a creative bookmark-making activity was organised. This activity allowed younger students to express their creativity in an enjoyable and age-appropriate way. Through colourful designs and meaningful messages, students reflected the values and ideals taught by Don Bosco. The activity successfully combined creativity with learning and generated great enthusiasm among the participants.
A special session was arranged for Junior College students of 11th Arts, Science, and Commerce during the second period in the AV Hall. During this session, students watched an inspirational film based on the life and mission of Don Bosco. The audio-visual presentation helped students gain deeper insight into his commitment to youth, education, and service to society. It also encouraged reflection on moral values, leadership, and responsibility.
The programme concluded at 9:30 a.m. and left a lasting impression on students from all sections. The event not only enriched their knowledge of Don Bosco but also showed that learning can be joyful and meaningful when presented creatively. The enthusiastic participation of students and the sincere efforts of the organising teachers contributed greatly to the success of the programme, making it a memorable and enriching experience for all.
