To support students in making informed and well-planned career choices, Don Bosco High School, Matunga organized a structured aptitude assessment programme for the students of Std. X in collaboration with Young Buzz, an organization that specializes in online aptitude testing and career guidance.
In today’s rapidly changing academic and professional landscape, choosing the right stream after secondary education is a crucial decision for students. With this objective in mind, the school initiated this programme to help students gain a deeper understanding of their interests, abilities, and personality traits, thereby enabling them to make choices aligned with their strengths and aspirations.
The online aptitude test played a key role in assessing each student’s interests, aptitude, and personality across various domains. The entire assessment process was facilitated in a systematic and student-friendly manner by Mrs Divya Immanuel, the school counsellor, along with Ms Naziya Khan from Young Buzz. Their guidance ensured that students felt comfortable and confident throughout the process.
A total of 213 students participated enthusiastically in this career assessment programme. The initiative was carried out in multiple well-planned phases to ensure clarity and effectiveness.
The first phase began with a parent orientation session, where parents were introduced to the concept of aptitude testing, its importance in career planning, and the overall structure and objectives of the programme. This session helped parents understand how aptitude assessments can support their children in making realistic and informed academic decisions.
The second phase involved the administration of the online aptitude test, which was conducted in the month of December 2025. The test evaluated students across a wide range of skill sets and aptitude areas, providing a comprehensive analysis of their strengths and preferences.
The final phase of the programme was conducted in January 2026 and included individual counselling sessions. During these sessions, students and their parents interacted with trained counsellors to discuss the test results in detail. Students were encouraged to openly express their interests, ask questions, and clarify doubts regarding subject selection and future career pathways. These sessions proved to be extremely beneficial, as they provided valuable insights, addressed concerns, and helped students gain clarity and confidence about their future direction.
Overall, the aptitude assessment programme proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience for both students and parents. It enabled informed decision-making and reinforced the school’s commitment to guiding students towards a confident, purposeful, and well-planned future.
