The much-awaited annual event of the Salesian Family was held at Fr Bernard Fernandes Hall, Don Bosco High School, Matunga, on January 25, 2026. Salesian Family members—including Cooperators, the Association of Mary Help of Christians, and past pupils from Don Bosco and Auxilium schools across the Mumbai Province (Maharashtra and Gujarat)—participated with great enthusiasm and zeal. 180 members attended the annual event.
The event began with a prayer song and the lighting of the lamp by all delegates.
Fr Diego Nunes (Provincial Delegate) welcomed everyone and thanked Fr Godfrey D'Souza (Rector) for graciously permitting the use of Fr Bernard Fernandes Hall and its facilities. Fr Robert Pen (Vice Provincial, Mumbai Province) declared SALFAM Day open, conveying greetings and a message from Fr Ashley Miranda (Provincial, Mumbai Province), who was absent due to official engagements. The Holy Eucharist, was celebrated by Fr Robert Pen and concelebrated by all present delegates.
Fr Robert Pen through his warm oratory skills highlighted key outcomes from GC29 (held February–April 2025), which will guide our all-round activities for the next six years, through a crisp and meaningful presentation.
Fr Joyston Machado, through his characteristic humor, and insightful references, guided members on the Strenna 2026 theme: "Do whatever he tells you." His session strongly correlated to the Christian path of faith—recognize, interpret, choose—all made possible by listening to Jesus, Mary’s beloved Son and our Lord!
Past pupils of Don Bosco organized a series of fun games, enhancing the cheerful mood. Prizes were awarded to the winners, adding to the day's festive atmosphere.
SALFAM Day concluded with a heartfelt "Thank You" hymn by the SMI Sisters, a vote of thanks with heartfelt gratitude, followed by a sumptuous lunch.
We're eagerly awaiting the next SALFAM event— See you soon with even more enthusiasm and zeal.
