The Mega Job Fair 2026 was formally inaugurated on February 14, 2026 at Don Bosco High School, Sector 42-A, Seawoods West, Navi Mumbai. Organised by the Association of Muslim Professionals in collaboration with the Bombay Catholic Sabha and supported by Don Bosco Avsar, Salesian Province of Mumbai and Markaz‑e‑Falah, Nerul Navi Mumbai, the initiative brought together employers and job seekers in a coordinated effort to promote dignified and just employment.
The programme began with reporting and refreshments, followed by a prayer song and formal inauguration. In his opening address, Mr Kevin D’Souza of the Bombay Catholic Sabha reminded participating companies that employment is not merely a commercial exchange but a social responsibility. He urged employers to ensure fair wages, timely payment and ethical working conditions, emphasising that providing the right job with justice is part of a larger mission that contributes directly to national development and social stability.
Fr Allwyn Misquitta SDB situated the initiative within the larger Salesian mission of youth empowerment. Drawing from the example of St John Bosco, who advocated fair labour conditions for young workers during the industrial era, he noted that employment generation and skill development have long been integral to the Salesian charism, particularly in serving the poor and marginalised.
The Rector, Fr Barnabe D’Souza SDB, highlighted that Don Bosco institutions across India continue to organise similar job fairs in cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad, Kerala and Pune as part of their sustained commitment to breaking cycles of poverty and enabling upward mobility for youth.
During the course of the event, Fr Savio Silveira and the Director of Don Bosco Avsar, Fr Gregory D’Almeida, visited the venue and were felicitated in recognition of their encouragement and support.
The Job Fair ran from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering opportunities across sectors including Engineering, IT, Telecom, Hospitality, Logistics, FMCG, Retail and Banking. The initiative was open to candidates from all communities, with eligibility ranging from 10th and 12th pass candidates to graduates and experienced professionals. A free employability training session was also made available to registered participants.
This third Job Fair within one year at Don Bosco, Seawoods, witnessed over 300 registrations, reflecting growing confidence in the platform. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and reaffirmed the shared mission of enhancing quality of life through ethical employment and collaborative social responsibility.
