The Gratitude Day Celebration at Don Bosco Nerul held on February 21, 2026 was organised to acknowledge and appreciate the families of staff members who provide constant support to them. Rooted in the Salesian spirit the event aimed to strengthen the bond between home and school and foster a attitude of gratitude within the educational community.
The programme commenced with the Salutation of St. John Bosco followed by a Prayer Song seeking God’s blessings. The Vice Principal and Administrator, Fr Shekar Mariadas, formally welcomed the gathering, highlighting the importance of family support in the teaching vocation.
A student-led reflection video beautifully portrayed the impact of staff members on students’ lives, expressing gratitude to their families for their sacrifices and encouragement. An entertainment segment featuring a soulful song by the Art teacher, Mr Dashrath Mullick, a classical dance performance Mrs Vinaya Valsan and a hilarious stand up by the Headmistress Mrs Jyotsna Dsouza added joy to the celebration. Principal, Mrs Kalyani Chaudhuri addressed the gathering, emphasising partnership between home and school in forming responsible and value-oriented young people.
The event concluded with the presentation of tokens of appreciation designed by Supervisor, Mrs Cleona Quadras carrying handwritten messages by staff members to their families. The celebration ended with refreshments and fellowship.
The programme witnessed active participation from staff members, their families successfully strengthened community spirit, promoted Salesian family values, recognised the silent contribution of staff families and fostered gratitude and unity within the institution
Gratitude Day was a meaningful initiative that reflected the Salesian charism of synodality, communion and appreciation. The celebration reinforced the belief that education is a shared mission supported not only by teachers and staff of Don Bosco Nerul but also by their families.

Students expressed heartfelt appreciation through their words and gestures, making the occasion deeply touching for all present.
