The Dominic Savio Parish, Nashik celebrated ‘togetherness’ – an event organised by the Salesian community of Don Bosco, Nashik on January 11, 2026, at Satpur. This was a time of coming together and enjoying each other’s presence in the spirit of unity, fellowship and togetherness.
The programme began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist in the morning at 8.30 a.m. celebrated by the Parish Priest, Fr Royal D'Abreo. In his sermon, he emphasized on spiritual connectedness to holiness. Basing his homily on the Feast of Baptism of Jesus Christ, he conveyed the message of humility and supremacy of our Lord. He also delved on the importance of communal gathering and the fostering unity within the Parish.
After the Holy Eucharist, refreshments including tea and snacks were provided to augment the celebrations. The celebration began with a carol singing competition held among the zonal areas within the Parish to revive the spirit of Christmas amongst all. The singing competition enlivened the atmosphere, creating a festive and spirited mood among the parishioners.
Games and activities were organized for all age groups to make the event livelier and engaging. Games like ‘Bombing in the city' were conducted for everyone, while musical chairs were conducted separately for ladies. The men were engaged in a quick game of ‘passing the parcel’. Fun games were also organised for children and youth adding to the energy and excitement to the event.
After the games, the celebration continued with a dance session, in which the stage was set alight with parishioners who showcased their talents. The lively music and performances created a cheerful and vibrant atmosphere.
Later, the Prize distribution ceremony was held to acknowledge the winners of the competitions. Prizes were awarded to the best dancers too, adding excitement and recognition to the event.
Towards the end of the programme, a prayer of thanksgiving and blessing over the food was offered, where everyone gathered to receive the blessing before partaking in the festive lunch which provided an opportunity for all parishioners to interact, share experiences, and enjoy fellowship in a relaxed and friendly environment.
The programme concluded on a joyful and harmonious note. The get-together successfully brought everyone together while fostering a sense of unity, happiness and fellowship. This made the event remarkable and memorable for everyone present.
