St. Dominic Savio High School celebrated Management Day on the Feast of St. John Bosco. on January 31, 2026. The day was observed as Management Day to express gratitude to the Savion Salesian Management that continues Don Bosco’s mission of educating and guiding the young with love, reason, and faith.
The celebration began with a warm welcome to the Salesian Priests and Brothers by kindergarten children and the Head Parents of the PTA, symbolising leadership rooted in service to the community. This was followed by a prayer service led by the Principal, Ms Valerie Mascarenhas, along with the Heads of all sections and the Sports Co-ordinator. A graceful prayer dance by the Primary Section added a spiritual touch. The Priests and Brothers were then felicitated for their dedicated service and for reflecting the values of Saint John Bosco. An expression of gratitude by the Vice-President of the Primary Section acknowledged the collective efforts of the school community. In his address, Rector Fr Franco Pereira shared his experiences and thanked God for the gift of being Salesians of Don Bosco, praising God’s presence within the Salesian family.
Across all sections, students took part in activities that deepened their understanding of Don Bosco’s life and mission. Secondary students watched a video on his journey and dedication to youth, Pre-Primary children enjoyed a short movie with a simple explanation and question round, and Primary students engaged in videos, colouring worksheets, comprehensions, and essay writing based on his life and teachings.
The Feast Day Mass, celebrated by Fr Franco Pereira, focused on the school theme, “Anchored in Hope: Pilgrims with the Young on the Path of Peace.” In his homily, he explained the importance of strong anchors in life through the guiding figures of Mama Margaret, Don Calosso, Don Cafasso, the Holy Eucharist, and Mother Mary. Simultaneously, a Prayer Service for students of other faiths, led by Fr Jeswin Mastan, emphasized hope, peace, and Don Bosco’s universal values.
The day concluded with distribution of small treats, marking a joyful end to the celebrations. The school community departed with hearts filled with gratitude, inspired by the values of St. John Bosco and united in their commitment to carry forward his spirit of love, hope, and service.
