The community of Divyadaan, Nashik conducted fete games on February 1, 2026 for the city Oratory children, where our brothers frequent on Sundays. The event was also participated by the girls of Krupa Prasad, where our brothers teach English and Mathematics and Maria Vihar. There were 228 children, who participated in the event and along with them, all the brothers who frequent those oratories were also present and they were the main organizers.
The event commenced at 10.30 a.m. with the welcome speech given by Fr Ivo Coelho, the rector of the community. Fr Coelho, in his speech, encouraged the children to participate in the games enthusiastically and joyfully. After his words of welcome, the girls from Krupa Prasad and Maria Vihar gracefully performed their prayer dance and an awareness dance on the cellphone respectively. Their creative steps and colorful costumes were appreciated by all, which set the tone for the entire day.
The brothers took the registration for their respective oratories and distributed the games coupons to all the children. The children were taken to different games stalls prepared in hard work by the brothers. The Divyadaan ground was filled with laughter and fun as the children move around from one game stall to the other. All of them filled with vibrant joy and much enthusiasm. It was a good opportunity and at the same time a moment of learning for the brothers too.
Almost all the children picked up prizes for their winning coupons and the prizes were attractive and useful for their study purposes. Thanks to Fr Shekar Devraj SDB, in charge of the Oratories at the Province level, for sponsoring most of the prizes.
At the end of the fete games, the children were assembled once again for a concluding session, where some ice breakers were conducted. The programme successfully ended at 1 p.m. with a final dance conducted for all. After the snacks break, the children left for their places together with the brothers in charge of their oratories, the same way as they were accompanied in the morning. We thank the community and all those who have contributed to the success of this event. We thank especially all the benefactors and well-wishers who had contributed for the purchase of the prizes and gifts for the children. It was a beautiful Salesian day, filled with joy in the faces of the poor children, whom we cater to every Sunday.
