The Don Bosco Half- Month 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and deep Salesian spirit at Don Bosco Lonavla. The celebrations were guided by the theme “The Dreamer of Reality,” which helped young people understand that Saint John Bosco was not only a man of dreams, but one who transformed his dreams into concrete action for the good of others.
The month-long programme began on 10 January with a prayerful Inauguration Service. During the service, the community was introduced to the theme of Bosco Month through a short reflection and prayer. On the same day, a Bookmark Making Competition was organised for students of Standards 8, 9, and 11. The activity encouraged creativity and reflection on the life and values of Don Bosco. From the many entries received, the top five bookmarks were selected and later awarded special prizes during Bosco Nite.
On 11 January, a Night of Singing was held in loving memory of Don Bosco. The evening was filled with hymns dedicated to him and created an atmosphere of joy, devotion, and gratitude for his life and mission among the young.
The programme continued on 18 January with the event “Dance Bosco Dance.” Each batch from Standards 8 to 12, along with the English Academy, prepared dance performances. Through music and movement, students expressed Don Bosco’s dreams, values, and his deep concern for young people.
The Bosco Quiz was conducted on 24 January and included 100 questions based on the life and work of Don Bosco. Additional questions shared by Fr. Blany during his Good Nights were also included, making the quiz both informative and engaging for the students.
On 25 January, each batch presented a skit based on one dream from the life of Don Bosco. These performances helped students understand his visions and relate them meaningfully to their own lives.
The spiritual life of the community was strengthened through Rosary Services conducted by the juniors on Wednesdays, and Eucharistic Adoration led by the seniors on Sundays, with special focus on Don Bosco’s love for the Eucharist. On most nights, except weekends, movie clippings on Don Bosco’s life were shown, followed by brief reflections by Fr. Blany and Fr. Avil.
The month concluded with Bosco Nite, which highlighted the message of dreaming, acting, and transforming, bringing Bosco Month 2026 to a joyful and meaningful close.
