The Resurrection Church in Virar East recently hosted a spiritually enriching Lenten Retreat and Healing Service on March 7 and 8, 2026. This event provided a unique opportunity for parishioners to deepen their faith, experience healing, and engage in communal worship during the sacred season of Lent.

The retreat commenced on Saturday evening, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants were welcomed with warmth and hospitality, with breakfast and lunch.

The retreat was led by a dedicated team of animators who guided participants through various spiritual activities. Fr Jesu Robinson, known for his insightful preaching and compassionate approach, inspired attendees with his messages of hope and renewal. Grace Ministries contributed their talents in worship and prayer, enhancing the spiritual atmosphere of the retreat. A passionate speaker, Mr Linus D’Costa, shared personal testimonies and reflections that resonated deeply with participants, encouraging them to open their hearts to God’s healing.

The retreat began with vibrant praise and worship sessions, allowing participants to express their love for God through music and song. This joyful atmosphere set the tone for a weekend filled with spiritual renewal.

 Central to the retreat was the celebration of the Holy Mass, where participants gathered to partake in the Eucharist, experiencing the profound mystery of Christ’s presence among them. Engaging talks by the retreat animators focused on the themes of Lent, encouraging participants to reflect on their spiritual journeys and the importance of repentance and renewal.  Personal testimonies shared during the retreat highlighted the transformative power of faith and the impact of God’s healing grace in the lives of individuals, inspiring others to trust in God’s love.

 Participants were given time for silent prayer, creating a sacred space for personal reflection and communion with God. This quiet time allowed for deeper introspection and connection with God. The sacrament of confession was made available, offering participants the chance to seek forgiveness and experience the healing power of God’s mercy. A time for adoration was included, allowing participants to spend intimate moments in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, deepening their relationship with Christ.

 The retreat featured the Divine Mercy devotion, a powerful reminder of God’s infinite mercy and love for humanity, encouraging participants to embrace this gift in their lives. The retreat culminated in a healing prayer service, where participants sought physical, emotional, and spiritual healing through prayer and the laying on of hands.

The Lenten Retreat and Healing Service at Resurrection Church was a profound experience for all who attended. It provided a space for reflection, healing, and community, allowing participants to grow closer to God and one another during this sacred season. As the retreat concluded, many left with renewed spirits, ready to embrace the journey of Lent with hope and faith.
