The students of Dominic Savio Kindergarten, Nerul, Senior KG Classes A, B, C, and D, visited Kisan Konnect, situated next to Don Bosco School, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, for an educational field visit. Around 160 students took part in the trip. Each class was accompanied by its class teacher and one PTA parent volunteer to ensure the children's safety and support.
Before setting out, the teachers and students assembled for a short prayer. Supervisor Mahek Ma'am spoke to the children and motivated them to learn new things, and enjoy the experience. The group then left the school at 10:40 a.m. and walked to Kisan Konnect.
The children were warmly received by the Kisan Konnect staff. During the visit, children explored a colourful display of fresh fruits and vegetables. They carefully observed the different colours, sizes, shapes, and varieties of the produce. The children were encouraged to touch and feel the fruits and vegetables to understand their different textures, such as smooth, rough, soft, and hard.
As part of the learning experience, the children visited the billing section, where they learnt about responsible shopping habits. The teachers highlighted the importance of using cloth bags instead of plastic bags as an eco-friendly choice. Before leaving, the children expressed their appreciation by thanking the Kisan Konnect staff members for their warm welcome and assistance.
On returning to school, the Kisan Konnect team distributed a colourful activity worksheet based on fruits and vegetables. The children completed the worksheet with great excitement and interest, which helped them recall and reinforce what they had learnt during the visit.
The visit provided a meaningful hands-on learning experience that strengthened the children's observation skills, vocabulary, environmental awareness, and social values. It was an enjoyable and memorable outing that successfully connected classroom learning with the real world.
