Kawant, July 18, 2026: Don Bosco Boarding, Kawant, organised its first Parents’ meeting of the academic year 2026–27 on July 18, 2026, bringing together parents, staff, and management in a spirit of collaboration and shared responsibility for student development. The programme was conducted for the parents of 237 students studying in Standards 6 to 10 from both Gujarati and English medium sections.
The event was held under the leadership of Fr Dr Mayank Parmar, Rector of the institution, along with Fr Ajay, Principal of Don Bosco High School (Gujarati Medium), Fr Agnel, Principal of Don Bosco High School (English Medium), and Br Melvin, Administrator of the institution. Their presence highlighted the institution’s commitment to fostering a strong partnership between parents and educators.
The programme commenced with an interfaith prayer service, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a formal welcome address, setting a reflective and inclusive tone for the gathering. The compère for the event, Mr Hasmukh Christian, introduced the various officials and staff members of Don Bosco Boarding, Kawant, enabling parents to become familiar with the team responsible for their children’s care and education.
During the session, detailed presentations were delivered by the Rector, Vice Rector, Administrator, Programme Officer of DISHA, and boarding master Mr Akash. They provided comprehensive insights into various aspects of student life and development within the institution. Key topics included the holistic development of students, the values and discipline upheld in the boarding, and the rules and regulations guiding daily life.
Special emphasis was placed on academic support systems such as extra classes in various subjects and structured coaching sessions designed to enhance students’ learning outcomes. The speakers also highlighted the initiatives under the DISHA skill development programme, which offers training in life skills and vocational competencies. Additionally, information was shared regarding opportunities in sports, arts, and cultural activities, ensuring the all-round growth of students.
The programme aimed to strengthen the communication bridge between the school, boarding, and parents, recognising that effective collaboration among these stakeholders is essential for nurturing responsible and capable individuals. Parents were encouraged to actively engage in their children’s educational journey and maintain regular communication with the institution.
A total of 202 parents attended the event, reflecting strong interest and commitment towards their children’s progress. The programme was further supported by the presence of Br Joseph, Mr Sevendrabhai, Mr Bharsinghbhai, Mr Ravjibhai, and other staff members, who contributed to the smooth conduct of the event.
The Parents’ meeting concluded on a positive note, fostering mutual understanding and trust. Such initiatives reaffirm Don Bosco Hostel Kawant’s dedication to providing quality education and holistic formation while building a supportive community involving both parents and educators.
