The Introduction to Music Production Course conducted at the TSDBA Recording Studio, Seawoods, concluded on April 23, 2026, with a certificate distribution ceremony presided over by Rector Fr Barnabe Dsouza.
The programme brought together a small group of students with musical backgrounds and guided them through a structured, hands-on exploration of audio production. Over the course duration, participants engaged in recording, editing, mixing and mastering, culminating in the creation of collaborative musical projects.
A key aspect of the training was its emphasis on practical workflow and role-based learning, wherein students alternated between performer, recording engineer and mixing engineer. This approach enabled them to develop both technical understanding and critical listening skills within a studio environment.
During the concluding session, selected works were presented, reflecting the students’ ability to manage multi-track recordings, balance instruments and make informed production decisions.
Addressing the participants, Fr Barnabe Dsouza encouraged them to continue developing their skills with discipline and purpose. He highlighted that such learning spaces are intended not only for skill acquisition but for the holistic development of young people, enabling them to grow into responsible and contributive members of society.
He further emphasised the importance of making meaningful use of available opportunities and of sharing these experiences with others, noting that such initiatives form part of a broader effort to engage youth in constructive and creative pursuits.
Certificates were then distributed to the participants, marking the successful completion of the programme.
The TSDBA Recording Studio continues to function as a practice-oriented learning space, offering structured programmes in music production and related creative disciplines. With access to a well-equipped studio environment and guided instruction, it provides an opportunity for students to explore sound, music and media in a disciplined and applied manner.
