Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul, organised a Value Education Programme titled “Beautifully Imperfect: Born to Rise”, presented by the students of Classes VII A and VII B under the guidance of Ms. Anu and Ms. Shiny, on August 5, 2026, in the presence of the Principal Mrs Kalyani Chaudhuri, the Vice Principal Br Royston Colaco, the Supervisor of the Middle Stage Mrs Reena Dias, along with other dignitaries, teachers and parents. The assembly addressed the widespread fear of failure among students and encouraged them to embrace mistakes as an essential and beautiful part of growth and learning.

The theme was thoughtfully linked to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being and SDG 4: Quality Education, highlighting that true learning and sound mental well-being flourish, when students are free to make mistakes and build resilience. Through a lively and imaginative skit titled “The Trap of Perfect-Land,” students journeyed to an alternate universe where every action was mechanically perfect, only to discover that a life without struggle, effort or failure is also a life without meaning or personal achievement. The narrative then travelled through the “Great Panels of History,” where students portrayed inspiring figures including Kalpana Chawla, Thomas Edison, J.K. Rowling, Mary Kom, Albert Einstein, Malala Yousafzai, Steve Jobs and Walt Disney, each sharing how their setbacks and rejections ultimately shaped their greatest achievements and strengthened their character.

The performance was followed by an engaging Interactive quiz that reinforced the morning’s message, and the spirited “Freeze & Pivot” segment, where student volunteers were presented with real-life setbacks, such as a failed science project or rejection from a sports team, and responded with confident, growth-oriented solutions. A vibrant dance performance added energy and joy to the celebration, reminding the audience that no dream is too big to chase and that persistence always pays off.

The programme concluded with a powerful Live “Echo-Chant” affirmation, where three students held up giant word-cards reading “I CAN,” “I WILL,” and “I GROW,” and the entire assembly hall echoed these affirmations back in response to everyday academic and personal challenges, leaving students with a resounding sense of self-belief. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ashton Vieira of Class VII A, and the students together affirmed on stage, “We are not afraid to fall, because we are born to rise!”

The Value Education Programme by the students of VII A and VII B was a meaningful and heartfelt blend of drama, historical storytelling, quizzing, audience interaction, dance and affirmation. It left the entire school community inspired to celebrate progress over perfection, to be kinder to themselves, and to face every setback in life with courage, resilience and hope.
