The Women's Cell of St. John Bosco Parish, Borivali marked a joyous milestone recently, celebrating one year of dedicated service and fellowship within the parish community on July 5. The celebration brought together members and clergy alike for an evening filled with prayer, fun, gratitude, and hope for the future.
The event commenced on a spiritual note with a Rosary to Our Lady, setting a tone of devotion and unity for the gathering. This was followed by a series of fun-filled games that had everyone laughing and participating with enthusiasm, fostering a warm sense of camaraderie among all present.
Ms Cynthia, President of the Women's Cell, then took the floor to present a brief overview of the cell's journey over the past year. She highlighted the major events and initiatives undertaken by the group, through which the Women's Cell has successfully carved out a strong and meaningful presence within the parish.
In a touching gesture, Cynthia presented Fr Manuel, the Parish Priest, with a Jasmine plant — a symbol carefully chosen to represent the past year's journey of the cell. Just as the jasmine plant withstands harsh winds yet remains resilient and continues to bloom, the Women's Cell too has weathered its share of difficulties and emotional hurdles while emerging stronger together. Cynthia closed her address with a heartfelt promise that the cell would nurture this plant together, just as they continue to nurture one another, and flourish in the years ahead.
Fr Manuel warmly reciprocated the gesture, visibly touched by the symbolism behind it. In his heartfelt speech, he spoke of the deep faith he holds in the Women's Cell and the vital role they play in the life of the parish. He expressed his admiration for the quiet strength and unwavering dedication the women have shown over the past year, noting that their resilience mirrored the very spirit of the jasmine plant gifted to him. He shared that he has always believed in the potential of the Women's Cell to be a pillar of faith, service, and support within the community, and that this belief has only grown stronger having witnessed their commitment first-hand. He extended his blessings and prayers for the group's continued growth, encouraging them to keep drawing strength from their faith in God and in one another as they look ahead to many more fruitful years of service.
The evening concluded with a wholesome dinner, enjoyed by all in the spirit of community and celebration.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Cynthia, Mary, Janet, Irene, Sr. Benedicta, Sr. Hedwidge, Sr. Sofia, Raiza, Venita, Jasmine, Fr. Ranson, Fr. Vishal, and Fr. Manuel, making it a memorable occasion for the entire Women's Cell family.
Here's to another year of faith, fellowship, and flourishing together!
