KAWANT, GUJARAT: Don Bosco Kawant concluded its month-long Marian Month celebration with a vibrant Marian Nite, bringing together prayer, learning, creativity, recreation and fraternity under the theme “Behold Your Mother.” The Marian Month was inaugurated by the Rector, Fr Mayank Parmar SDB, who encouraged the boys to deepen their relationship with Mother Mary and to look to her as a loving mother, model of faith and guide towards Christ.
The month-long celebration witnessed the active involvement of the entire Salesian community. The confreres accompanied the boys in the various spiritual, creative and recreational activities, making the celebration a meaningful experience of faith and community life. Their participation helped the boys discover different dimensions of Marian devotion while fostering a joyful atmosphere within the community.
As part of the celebrations, Cl. Joseph taught the boys the Marian Anthem, enabling them to learn and sing it together during the Marian activities. The boys also participated in a drawing competition and an essay writing competition, with themes centred on Mother Mary. These activities provided the boys with opportunities to express their understanding of Mary through creativity and reflection.
The spiritual dimension of the Marian Month was strengthened through the recitation of the Rosary every Sunday. The boys were also encouraged to write personal letters to Mother Mary, expressing their prayers, hopes, gratitude and intentions. These activities helped them develop a more personal relationship with Mary and encouraged them to approach her with the simplicity and trust of children approaching their mother.
The culmination on August 15 began with a festive morning Mass, bringing the boys and the Salesian community together in prayer and thanksgiving. The spiritual celebration was followed by a series of lively and animated games, in which the boys participated with enthusiasm and team spirit. The morning recreation reached its highlight with a special volleyball match between the boys and the Salesians. The friendly encounter was filled with excitement, laughter and healthy competition, strengthening the bond of fraternity between the boys and the confreres. The active participation of the Salesians made the occasion a memorable experience for the boys and added a joyful community dimension to the Marian Month celebrations.
The day continued with the much-awaited Marian Nite, which brought together faith and fun through interactive activities and exciting quiz rounds based on Mother Mary, her life, virtues and place in the Catholic faith. The confreres actively accompanied the evening, while the boys enthusiastically participated in the various activities. The quiz and games provided an engaging way for the boys to learn more about Mary while enjoying a spirit of healthy competition and fellowship.
The Marian Month at Don Bosco Kawant thus became a collective journey of faith, fraternity and joyful learning. Through the involvement of the Rector and the confreres, the boys were encouraged to know, love and imitate Mary in her faith, humility, obedience and loving service. The theme “Behold Your Mother” remained a constant reminder that Mary continues to lead the young towards her Son, Jesus Christ.
