On March 22, 2026, the St John Bosco Borivali Youth Group set out on a heartfelt mission to Mira Road, visiting the Sneha Sagar Old Age Home and Ankur Orphanage to spread the love and joy inspired by the spirit of Don Bosco. With hearts full of purpose, the youth carried not only essential supplies but also a deep desire to connect, comfort, and bring smiles. They donated groceries, rations, and toiletries for the elderly residents, and thoughtfully prepared educational materials such as books and stationery for the children.
At the old age home, the visit unfolded in a quiet yet deeply moving manner. The youth gathered around the elderly women, engaging them in conversations that were filled with warmth and sincerity. They listened attentively to stories of the past, moments of joy, and reflections of loss. Laughter echoed softly, but there were also moments when emotions surfaced and tears were shared. In those instances, the youth offered not solutions, but presence and understanding. These simple interactions became powerful reminders of how deeply companionship is needed and valued. What began as a visit soon transformed into a space of mutual sharing, where both generations found comfort in each other’s company.
In contrast, the visit to the orphanage was lively and full of energy. The youth instantly connected with the children through dance, music, and playful interaction. They sang together, laughed freely, and created an atmosphere of belonging and joy. Conversations flowed easily, with the youth taking on the role of older siblings who listened, encouraged, and guided. Some even shared their contact details, offering the children a sense of continued support and reassurance that the connection would not end with the day. The happiness on the children’s faces reflected the impact of genuine attention and care.
This experience became more than an act of service. It was a meaningful journey of reflection and growth for the youth. It opened their eyes to realities often unseen and reminded them of the importance of empathy, gratitude, and human connection. In giving their time and love, they received far more in return, leaving with hearts that were fuller, humbler, and quietly transformed.
