The Inaugural Prayer Service for the academic year 2026–2027 was solemnly conducted on Friday, April 10, at Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul. The ceremony marked the official beginning of the new academic session and was attended by the Management, Fathers, Principal, Headmistress, Supervisors, teachers, and students. Centered on the theme “Blessings for a New Beginning,” the service set a reflective and purposeful tone for the year ahead.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by the student anchors, who encouraged everyone to step into the new academic year with faith, enthusiasm, and determination. The Opening Prayer followed, thanking the Almighty for His guidance and seeking wisdom and strength for the journey ahead.
A meaningful segment titled “Vision of the Year” was presented by students who displayed charts representing their aspirations and goals. This symbolized the shared commitment of the school community toward excellence, character formation, and holistic growth.
The Lamp Lighting Ceremony was led by Fr Barnabe Dsouza (Rector), Fr Alwyn Misquitta, Mrs Kalyani Chaudhari (Principal), Mrs Jyotsna Dsouza (Headmistress), Supervisors, and the Curriculum Coordinator. The lighting of the lamp, accompanied by a devotional hymn, signified the triumph of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. A graceful prayer dance followed, invoking God’s blessings upon the institution.
Scripture readings from the Holy Bible, Holy Quran, Bhagavad Gita, and Guru Granth Sahib reflected the inclusive spirit of the school and reinforced universal values of peace, compassion, and unity. Fr Barnabe Dsouza delivered an inspiring reflection, urging students and staff to remain steadfast in faith and committed to learning and service.
Intercessory prayers were offered for students, teachers, support staff, and the world at large. The Fathers then imparted a special blessing over the gathering, invoking divine grace for a fruitful year.
A significant highlight of the day was the release of the School Magazine 2026–27. The editorial team was invited on stage, and the publication was formally inaugurated, celebrating the creative talents of students.
In her address, the Principal warmly welcomed the new members of the Bosco family and emphasized the guiding words for the year—“Connect” and “Correct”—encouraging meaningful relationships and continuous self-improvement.
The programme concluded with the school anthem. The Inaugural Prayer Service was a spiritually uplifting event that inspired the school community to begin the academic year with gratitude, unity, and renewed commitment.
