Don Bosco English Medium School, Chhotaudepur, celebrated the Feast of St. Dominic Savio on July 8, 2026 with great devotion and enthusiasm. The occasion became even more memorable as the school organized the Investiture Ceremony for the newly elected student leaders, inspiring them to embrace leadership with responsibility, integrity, and a spirit of service.
The program commenced at 8:45 a.m. with a solemn prayer song, invoking God's blessings upon the students, teachers, and the newly elected leaders. The gathering included parents, staff members, and students, whose presence added joy to the celebration.
Fr Selvin D'Mello, Principal of the school, warmly welcomed everyone and highlighted the significance of the day. He reminded the students that true leadership is not about authority but about serving others with humility, dedication, and honesty. He encouraged the newly appointed leaders to become role models by living the values exemplified by St. Dominic Savio.
Fr George Carlos, Manager of the institution, addressed the gathering and reflected on the inspiring life of St Dominic Savio, the young saint and beloved disciple of St John Bosco. He emphasized Savio's deep faith, purity, discipline, and commitment to doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. He encouraged the student leaders to imitate these virtues and to guide their fellow students with compassion, fairness, and responsibility.
Adding colour and vibrancy to the celebration, the students presented a graceful cultural dance dedicated to the spirit of youth and leadership. The highlight of the ceremony was the formal installation of the School Captain, Vice-Captain, House Captains, and other student office bearers. Each leader was ceremoniously invested with a sash, badge, and house flag, symbolizing the trust and responsibility entrusted to them.
The Oath of Leadership was administered by Fr Selvin D'Mello, during which the newly elected leaders solemnly pledged to uphold the values of discipline, honesty, respect, and dedicated service. Fr George Carlos, along with Fr Stanny Ferreira, Administrator of the institution, presented the badges and flags to the student leaders.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, parents, teachers, and students for making the event a grand success. Inspired by the example of St Dominic Savio, the newly installed leaders begin their journey with renewed enthusiasm, ready to lead the school community with wisdom, courage, and the true Salesian spirit.
