Kawant, April 16, 2026: Don Bosco, Kawant successfully organized a five-day DISHA Soft Skill Training Programme for the boarding students of Standard 8 and 9 from April 11 to April 15, 2026. A total of 120 students from two hostels—Don Bosco Boys’ Boarding and Nikol Bhavan Girls’ Boarding—actively participated in the programme.
The training began with an inaugural function on April 11 in the presence of Fr Mayank, Fr Ajay, Fr Agnel, Cl. Ankit, Cl. Rex, and Cl. Mark. During the opening session, the dignitaries addressed the students and encouraged them to make the best use of the opportunity for their personal growth and future success. Their motivating words inspired the participants to approach the programme with enthusiasm and seriousness.
The main resource persons for the training were Mr Hasmukh Christian and Fr Mayank Parmar SDB. They guided the students through various interactive sessions designed to develop confidence, discipline, and life skills. The training methods included group discussions, PowerPoint presentations, experience sharing, practical activities, and the writing of a daily personal journal.
Several important and relevant topics were covered during the five days. These included personality development, self-awareness, goal setting, effective study techniques, public speaking, and human values. Each topic was presented in a simple and engaging manner so that the students could easily understand and apply the lessons in their daily lives.
The evenings were made more meaningful through motivational films such as Chak De India, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Goothli, and 12th Fail. These movies inspired the students with stories of perseverance, determination, teamwork, and success through hard work. On the following day, review sessions and group discussions were conducted to reflect on the key messages from each film. Students shared their thoughts and noted the important life lessons they had learned.
Creative afternoon sessions were led by Cl. Rex and Cl. Mark, who animated the students through outdoor games and activities. These sessions helped the students relax, build friendships, and develop teamwork. Night sessions were also organized with group dynamics exercises that were lively and enjoyable for all the participants.
The concluding programme was both joyful and inspiring. Many students confidently expressed what they had learned during the five days. They shared that such trainings play an important role in shaping their personality, improving communication skills, and helping them prepare for a brighter future.
The Salesian fathers present appreciated the wholehearted participation, discipline, and eagerness shown by the students throughout the programme. They also praised the sincere efforts of the organizers and trainers.
At the end, Fr Agnel, Prefect of Studies, proposed the vote of thanks. He thanked the resource persons, kitchen staff, organizers, and all the participants for their valuable contribution in making the programme a grand success.
The DISHA Soft Skill Training once again proved to be a meaningful initiative in empowering young minds with confidence, values, and life skills.
