Don Bosco Junior College, Yerwada celebrated Doctor's Day on July 1, 2026 in the School Hall. The programme was organised to honour the medical profession and to inspire students through the experiences of distinguished alumni who have excelled in the field of healthcare.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the three guest doctors, all proud alumni of Don Bosco Junior College. The students greeted the guests with a big round of applause. Mrs Nisha introduced each doctor and highlighted their educational journey and professional achievements.
The first guest, Dr Asma Sayyed, an alumna of the 2010 batch, completed her Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and is currently practising at Tattvam Clinic, Dhanori. The second guest, Dr Vaishnavi Agarwal, from the 2011–2012 batch, earned her Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) from D.Y. Patil Homeopathic Medical College, Pimpri, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Emergency Medical Services. She is presently associated with Ruby Hall Clinic. The third guest, Dr Sangeeta Gopal, an alumna of the 2013 batch, completed her MBBS from D.Y. Patil Medical College and Research Centre, Pimpri, Pune. She currently serves as a Medical Officer at the ESIC Government Hospital/Dispensary and is also associated with Vaibhav Nursing Home, Dhanori.
The guests were felicitated with greeting cards and red roses by Mrs Vanita, Mrs Blossom and Mrs Diana as a token of gratitude.
Dr Sangeeta Gopal addressed the students, sharing her inspiring journey from student life to the medical profession. She fondly recalled her teachers and acknowledged their guidance. She encouraged students to maintain a healthy balance between physical and mental well-being for academic success.
Dr Vaishnavi Agarwal expressed her happiness at revisiting her alma mater. She reminisced about her memorable college days and thanked the Principal and teachers for their constant encouragement and support.
Dr Asma Sayyed conducted an interactive session on stretching exercises. She demonstrated simple techniques that could be practised at home to reduce stress, improve flexibility and maintain good health without requiring a gym. Students enthusiastically participated, and a few volunteers joined her in demonstrating the exercises.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mrs. Nisha, who expressed gratitude to the guest doctors, the Principal, the Management, the staff members and everyone involved in organising the programme. The students appreciated the informative and motivating session before proceeding to their respective classes.
