The Past Pupils’ Association of Don Bosco, Yerwada Unit, organised a vibrant and memorable gathering titled “Don Bosco in the Gen Z Way” on August 15, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. in the Don Bosco School hall, Yerwada.
The programme was graced by Mr Sandeep Satav, the President, Mr William Salvi, the Vice President (Senior Members), Tr. Pauline, the Moderator of the Past Pupils and Mr Kaiwalya, the Secretary of the Past Pupils.
This event brought together around 200 past pupils, who enthusiastically responded to the pre-registration and returned to their alma mater to reconnect, celebrate and relive cherished memories.
The day began with the garlanding of the statue of Don Bosco by the Delegate of the Past Pupils Fr Glen Fernandes and Mr Sandeep Satav followed by a prayer and the School Anthem. The gathering was then warmly welcomed by the Vice-President of the GEX, Yerwada Unit, Mr Joshua Lobo, who delivered the introductory address and set the tone for a joyful and meaningful day.
The Delegate of the Past Pupils’ Association, Fr Glen Fernandes, added energy and enthusiasm to the gathering with an action song. This was followed by a series of lively ice-breakers and fun-filled games, which brought the past pupils together and created an atmosphere of laughter and youthful spirit. Participants enthusiastically joined in the activities, proving that the Don Bosco spirit continues to unite generations.
One of the highlights of the day was the poster-making activity on the theme “Don Bosco in the Life of Gen Z.” The participants expressed their creativity and reflected on how Don Bosco’s values of friendship, guidance, education and loving kindness remain relevant in today’s digital and rapidly changing world.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Glen Fernandes expressed his joy at seeing so many past pupils return to their alma mater. He encouraged more former students to become active members of the Past Pupils’ Association and continue their bond with Don Bosco and the Salesian family.
The spirit of celebration extended beyond the school premises. In the evening, some past pupils, along with Fr Glen Fernandes and others, visited Maria Sharan Ashram, a home for underprivileged children. They spent time with the children and offered them food. The visit brought immense happiness to the children, who warmly welcomed the visitors.
A student from the Ashram expressed her gratitude through a heartfelt vote of thanks, saying that they felt truly fortunate to have people come to their home, bless them and spend precious time with them. The genuine smiles and happiness on the children’s faces beautifully reflected the joy of sharing.
The day concluded as a celebration not merely of memories, but of friendship, fellowship and service, a true reflection of Don Bosco’s enduring legacy among his past pupils.
