On June 19, 2026, Don Bosco School and Junior College, Nashik celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and active participation. The programme was organized to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle among students and staff members.
The celebration commenced on the school turf court with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of International Yoga Day. The speaker emphasized the importance of yoga in today's fast-paced world and encouraged students to make yoga a regular part of their daily routine to improve concentration, discipline, and overall well-being. The gathering was also reminded that yoga helps maintain a healthy balance between the mind and body.
Students, teachers, and non-teaching staff gathered together to participate in the event. A trained yoga instructor guided the participants through various yoga asanas and breathing exercises. Students enthusiastically performed different postures such as Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, and Surya Namaskar. The instructor explained the benefits of each asana and demonstrated the correct techniques for performing them safely and effectively.
The session also included pranayama and meditation exercises, which helped participants experience relaxation and inner peace. The students followed the instructions attentively and enjoyed the opportunity to learn simple techniques for reducing stress and improving focus.
