The Youth of Mary Help of Christians (YMHC), Naigaon, successfully organized their very first Cricket Tournament on May 3, 2026 at the vibrant and energetic Don Bosco Turf. What began as a simple youth initiative turned into an unforgettable celebration of sportsmanship, unity, and parish spirit.
The tournament witnessed the participation of 10 highly competitive teams, all made up of parishioners from Mary Help of Christians Parish. From the very first match till the grand finale, the atmosphere was filled with excitement, cheering, and thrilling cricket action.
The day officially began at 10:20 a.m. with an opening prayer led by Fr Joaquim Fernandes, seeking God’s blessings for a fair, safe, and successful tournament. Soon after, the teams geared up with full enthusiasm and sporting spirit, ready to give their best on the field.
One of the most beautiful sights of the day was witnessing such a huge gathering of spectators — parishioners, families, youth, and children — all coming together to support and encourage the players. The cheers from the crowd added energy to every match and truly reflected the strong community spirit of the parish.
Every game was packed with non-stop action, intense moments, and outstanding performances. Each team brought their A-game, making every match competitive and memorable. The tournament reached its peak during the electrifying final match between Our Lady of Lourdes and Citizen Warriors, where both teams fought with determination and passion.
After an intense battle, Citizen Warriors emerged as the proud champions of the YMHC Cricket Tournament 2026, while Our Lady of Lourdes secured the position of runners-up.
