The two-day staff programme held on April 20 and 21, 2026 conducted by DBDS Matunga witnessed the active participation of around 48 DBDS staff members, creating a vibrant and collaborative learning environment. The programme commenced with Fr George Miranda leading a short prayer, invoking God’s blessings and guidance. He warmly welcomed the staff and set the tone by emphasizing unity, shared responsibility, and commitment to the mission. This was followed by an engaging icebreaker session conducted by Mr Wilfred, which helped participants connect, interact freely, and build a sense of team spirit.
The first day focused on strengthening professional capacities through sessions led by Mr Mahesh on Need Assessment, Project Design, and Monitoring & Evaluation. These sessions were both informative and practical, enabling participants to better understand project planning and impact assessment. The afternoon included group activities and workshops, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and application of concepts, culminating in group presentations. The day concluded with recreational activities, fostering bonding and relaxation among staff.
Day 2 began with a recap and a feedback session facilitated by Fr Miranda, combined with short presentations from each community. Staff shared the work carried out in their respective areas, the challenges they faced, and key learnings, making it a rich exchange of experiences. Mr Wilfred then conducted a session on Mission Poverty Eradication, stressing the importance of documenting success stories (Testimony videos and photos of beneficiaries), maintaining relevant data on, and continuously reflecting on whether the work truly reaches poor youth and the most vulnerable.
A special note of gratitude is extended to Fr George D’ Abreo and Fr Ajay D’Monte for adding immense value to the programme through their meaningful inputs. Their active involvement in conducting games and organizing the dance session brought great energy and enthusiasm, making the entire experience lively and memorable.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, prize distribution, and departure, marking a fruitful, enriching, and spirit-filled experience for all participants.
