The Foundational Stage 1 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Parent Orientation Programme for Nursery, Junior KG, and Senior KG of Dominic Savio Kindergarten, Nerul was conducted on April 11, 2026, at the Fourth Floor Multipurpose Hall of Don Bosco Nerul. The programme brought together parents and school authorities to introduce the academic vision, guidelines, and developmental focus for the new academic year.
The programme began with a Sanskrit prayer song sung by the students of Classes VII and VIII, setting a serene and reflective tone for the event.
Father Rector Dr Barnabe DSouza addressed the gathering and welcomed the parents to the Don Bosco Institute. He shared the vision and mission of the institution, emphasizing value-based education and the holistic development of children. Following his address, a salutation to Saint John Bosco was offered.
A key highlight of the programme was the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) session conducted by two psychologists from Prafulta, Ms Janki Bhand and Ms Bandita Sharma. The session focused on developmental milestones in early childhood and highlighted the crucial role parents play in supporting their child’s emotional and social well-being. The session provided practical guidance, making it both meaningful and informative for the parents.
The Supervisor of the Foundational Stage, Ms Mahek Khan, addressed the parents and shared general instructions for the academic year. She outlined important guidelines related to school routines, discipline, communication, and expectations from parents, helping to strengthen the school-home partnership.
The programme concluded with a closing address by the School Principal, Mrs Kalyani Chaudhuri, who appreciated the presence and cooperation of the parents and reiterated the importance of collaborative efforts in a child’s development.
Following the formal session, parents proceeded to their respective classrooms for the “Know Your Teacher” segment. During this interaction, class teachers provided information about classroom practices, curriculum structure, and the assessment pattern. They also shared important points to be kept in mind for the smooth functioning of the class and addressed parent queries.
The programme was conducted smoothly and effectively, providing parents with valuable insights into the academic and socio-emotional development of their children, while fostering a strong connection between the school and parents.
