Kawant, July 11: A meaningful and well-coordinated programme of certificate distribution and tree plantation was organised at Don Bosco Kawant, as part of an initiative financially supported by the Rotary Club of Jawaharnagar, Vadodara, and executed by DISHA Don Bosco, Kawant.
The occasion marked the successful completion of the Bridge Course by the ninth batch of trainees, wherein 107 young men and women were awarded certificates. The certificates were presented by distinguished guests including Rotary Club President Mr Girish Dhar, Secretary Mr Vivek Duggal, Vice President Mr Hemang Vahia, President-Elect Mr Manish Shah, Past President Mr Umed Fefadra, along with members Mr Manoj Adalja, Mrs Anita Jandial, and Mr Kirit Dholakia. Representing Don Bosco Kawant were Rector Fr Dr Mayank Parmar and English Medium School Principal Fr Agnel.
The programme also featured experience-sharing sessions by both current and former trainees, who spoke about the positive transformation brought about by the Bridge Course. Addressing the gathering, Mr Girish Dhar and Fr Dr Mayank Parmar congratulated the trainees and encouraged them to remain committed to their personal growth and social responsibility.
The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr Hasmukh Christian, Programme Officer of DISHA Don Bosco Kawant, followed by the National Anthem.
A significant highlight of the event was the inauguration of the renovation work at the DISHA Don Bosco Skill Centre. Mrs Anita Jindal, who contributed a generous amount of approximately ₹2 lakh towards the project. The Rotary members present appreciated Mrs Jindal and Mr Rajiv Jindal for their valuable contribution.
In line with promoting environmental consciousness, the Rotary representatives also participated in a tree plantation drive within the Don Bosco campus, planting saplings of Jamun, Amla, and Drumstick trees.
The event was smoothly compered by the students of the tenth batch of the Bridge Course, who demonstrated commendable confidence and organisational ability.
In his address, Chief Guest Mr Girish Dhar expressed his admiration for the programme, stating that he was deeply impressed by the discipline and enthusiasm of the youth. He further mentioned that such initiatives instil hope for the future of the nation and assured continued support from the Rotary Club, especially during its Diamond Jubilee year.
In his concluding remarks, Fr Dr Mayank Parmar highlighted that Don Bosco Kawant, through DISHA, works at the grassroots level and aligns closely with Rotary’s Four-Way Test. He noted that such collaborative efforts significantly contribute to the empowerment and holistic development of tribal youth in the region.
The programme stood as a fine example of effective collaboration, combining financial support and grassroots execution to bring about meaningful change in the lives of young people.
