Don Bosco Chinchwad witnessed a meaningful and grace-filled occasion on May 29, 2026, with the visit of the Provincial team and the installation of Fr. Shekar Mariadas as the new Rector of the community.

The visit was graced by Fr. Ashley, the Provincial, Fr. Robert Pen, the Vice Provincial, and Fr. Anton, the Provincial Economer and the outgoing Rector. The Provincial team arrived at Don Bosco Chinchwad by tea time and were warmly welcomed by the community. After having tea together, the team held a meeting with the community members, creating a moment of sharing, guidance, and fraternity.

The community gathered in the chapel for the Holy Mass at.6.45. p.m., during which Fr. Shekar Mariadas was installed as Rector. The Eucharistic celebration was prayerful and solemn, marking an important moment in the life of the community.

During the celebration, Fr. Ashley, the Provincial, invited the community to become a more prayerful community and encouraged the newly appointed Rector to lead by example through his presence, guidance, and commitment. He also expressed his gratitude to Fr. Anton, the outgoing Rector, for his dedicated service and contribution to the community during his tenure.

The Catholic boys also joined the Holy Mass and enriched the celebration through their melodious singing and active participation. Their presence added joy and life to the ceremony. The boys were especially happy to meet Fr. Anton, their former Rector, and expressed their affection and gratitude towards him.

The installation of Fr. Shekar Mariadas marked a new chapter for the Don Bosco Chinchwad community. The occasion reflected unity, gratitude, prayer, and hope for the future under the leadership of the new Rector.
