On July 4, 2026, a Parent Orientation Programme for the parents of pre-primary students was conducted at Don Bosco School and Junior College, Nashik with the objective of familiarizing parents with the school’s vision, policies, academic expectations, and the holistic development approach adopted for young learners.
The programme commenced with a solemn prayer seeking God's blessings for the academic year and for the well-being of all students. The gathering was then welcomed by the school management. The newly appointed Parish Priest and Rector, Fr Wyman Gonsalves, who joined the Don Bosco family in May 2026, was introduced to the parents. The respected Principal, Fr Rixson, was also warmly introduced.
Addressing the gathering, Fr Wyman Gonsalves shared words of welcome and inspired parents with his vision of nurturing children through a partnership between home and school. He emphasized the importance of providing a loving, supportive, and value-based environment for every child.
The programme also included the formal introduction of the pre-primary teaching staff, enabling parents to become familiar with the educators who would guide their children throughout the year.
A detailed presentation on the school’s rules and regulations followed. Parents were informed about the importance of carrying the school handbook daily, maintaining proper uniforms, adhering to attendance requirements, and following school procedures. School timings, homework schedules, and pick-up and drop-off procedures were also clearly explained.
An enriching educational session formed the highlight of the programme. Tr Anagha spoke on “Understanding Early Childhood Emotions,” providing valuable insights into recognizing and nurturing the emotional well-being of young children. Tr Sneha addressed parents on “Holistic Growth: Health, Food Habits, and Foundation Studies,” stressing the importance of balanced nutrition, healthy routines, and playful learning experiences. Principal Fr Rixson delivered an informative talk on “Navigating Social Media: A Guide for Modern Parents,” highlighting digital safety, responsible screen-time management, and the need to protect childhood in an increasingly digital world.
The orientation programme proved to be highly informative and beneficial. It strengthened the bond between parents and the school while equipping families with practical knowledge to support their children’s academic, emotional, and social development. The session concluded on a positive note, with parents expressing appreciation for the guidance and clarity provided, paving the way for a successful and productive academic year.
