On July 17, 2026, a Tree Plantation Activity was organized by the Scout and Guide Unit in collaboration with the Eco Club of Don Bosco School and Junior College, Nashik, on the school campus. The activity aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to contribute towards a greener and healthier environment.
The programme commenced with the warm welcome of the Chief Guest, Fr Wyman, Rector of Don Bosco School. The event was introduced by Tr Anagha, Guide Captain, who highlighted the importance of tree plantation and emphasized the role of students in protecting and preserving nature for future generations.
As a token of gratitude and appreciation, the Troop Leader and Company Leader felicitated the Chief Guest with a sapling. The gesture symbolized growth, sustainability, and a shared commitment to environmental conservation.
The highlight of the programme was the Tree Plantation Ceremony. Fr Wyman, along with teachers and students, planted saplings in various parts of the school campus. The Scouts, Guides, and Eco Club members participated enthusiastically, demonstrating their concern for the environment and their willingness to contribute to a greener future.
Inspired by the educational vision of St. John Bosco, which emphasizes forming responsible citizens and good human beings, the activity encouraged students to develop respect for creation and a sense of responsibility towards society. Don Bosco believed that education should nurture not only the mind but also the heart, inspiring young people to care for others and the world around them.
Addressing the students, Fr Wyman encouraged them to nurture the saplings and develop a sense of responsibility towards nature. He emphasized that every tree planted today contributes to a healthier and more sustainable tomorrow.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, organizers, teachers, and students for their valuable contribution to the success of the event.
Reflecting Don Bosco's vision of nurturing responsible citizens, Principal Fr Rixson Nigrel remarked, “Planting a tree is an investment for the future. By caring for nature, our students learn the values of responsibility, gratitude, and service, which are essential for building a better society.”
The activity served as a meaningful reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship and inspired students to become active participants in protecting the planet, one sapling at a time.
