DB-ACE Chinchwad celebrated the convocation of its 5-day AI and Canva course with a heartfelt closing ceremony. The event, held on the same day as the last day of our Director and Rector, Fr Anton D’Souza, was both joyous and emotional for the institute community.
Auxiln Fernando, a faculty member opened the ceremony with a warm welcome for the chief guests and graduating students. Fr Anton D'Souza then addressed the gathering, sharing the inspiring story of DB-ACE. He recounted how the former Provincial encouraged him to launch DB-ACE and how, together with Principal Mr Nilesh Sir, he meticulously planned the initiative. Their efforts to secure support from Knorr-Bremse culminated in an approved project proposal, a signed MoU, and the rapid setup of the DB-ACE lab within ten days.
The outgoing Director reflected on the lab’s journey and success, noting that DB-ACE has become one of the finest computer labs in the Province and a hub for meaningful training and activities.
He also shared the distinction that DB-ACE Chinchwad was the first Salesian institution in the province to introduce an Agentic AI course, a recognition conveyed to him by the former Provincial, Fr Savio Silveira.
Fr D'Souza thanked Principal Nilesh Sir, Auxiln Fernando, and Ashay Patole Sir for their dedication and blessed DB-ACE, wishing it continued growth and success.
Certificates were then presented to the graduates. The ceremony highlighted the commitment of several students who travelled long distances to attend the program: Anugraha Salvi commuted daily from Badlapur, Jacob Chavan travelled from Daund, and Marshall Kamble joined from Yerwada. Their dedication exemplifies the enthusiasm and drive of participants eager to learn new skills in AI and digital design.
The course also attracted experienced educators. Savita Travis, an award-winning former principal of multiple Pune schools, participated as a learner—demonstrating that lifelong learning crosses all levels of experience. Her presence inspired students and staff alike.
During the event, student Sam Christian offered heartfelt thanks to Ashay Sir and Auxi Ma’am for conducting the course free of charge, and expressed appreciation to Knorr-Bremse for providing a state-of-the-art computer lab.
The institute also acknowledged guest lecturer Cladius Fernando for his voluntary contributions and insightful sessions throughout the program.
The convocation concluded amid gratitude and celebration, reaffirming DB-ACE Chinchwad’s commitment to innovative training and community upliftment.
The institute extends sincere thanks to Fr Anton D'Souza, the outgoing Director and Knorr-Bremse Global Care for their continued support and trust in this initiative.
