"Freedom is not merely remembered—it is relived." This sentiment came alive at Don Bosco High School (SSC), Borivali, where the Patriotic Competition 2026–27 transformed the school hall into a vibrant canvas of India's glorious past on July 17, 2026.
For one memorable morning, the pages of history seemed to leap out of textbooks and onto the stage. The echoes of freedom fighters' sacrifices resonated through dramatic performances, patriotic melodies, and graceful dances, reminding every spectator that the story of India's independence continues to inspire generations.
The spotlight of the event was undoubtedly the Historical Tableau Competition for Class IX. With exceptional creativity and conviction, the four houses recreated defining chapters of the freedom struggle—from the sorrow of Jallianwala Bagh and the determination of the Salt Satyagraha to the courage of the Boycott Movement and the fire of the Revolutionary Movement. Every performance reflected months of preparation and a deep understanding of the nation's struggle for freedom.
The tableaux were evaluated by Fr Ranson D'Souza, Principal, and Ms Charusheela Pujare, SSC Supervisor, who applauded the students for their authentic portrayal, historical accuracy, and impactful stage presentation. Red House emerged as the champion, while Yellow House secured the runners-up position.
The patriotic fervour continued as melodious voices and energetic dance performances filled the auditorium with pride and emotion. The singing and dance competitions showcased not only artistic excellence but also the students' heartfelt love for the nation. The performances were judged by Mr Aaron Pinto, noted dancer, and Mr Rahul Pereira, singer, who appreciated the confidence, discipline, and remarkable talent displayed by the participants.
Addressing the gathering, the judges encouraged every participant to continue using their talents as a means of expressing positive values and national pride. Their inspiring words served as a fitting tribute to the efforts of all the students.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms Pujare, expressing gratitude to the Principal, judges, teachers, and students whose dedication ensured the grand success of the event.
The Patriotic Competition 2026–27 was not merely an inter-class contest; it was a living reminder that patriotism is nurtured not only by remembering history but by embracing its values of courage, unity, sacrifice, and service. Through music, movement, and meaningful storytelling, the students proved that the flame of patriotism continues to burn brightly in the hearts of India's young generation.
