Nashik, July 12, 2026: Don Bosco Parish, Nashik was filled with joy, laughter, and spiritual reflection on Sunday, July 12, as it hosted the highly anticipated "Family Faith Fest." Organized by the Don Bosco Youth Nashik (DBYN), the event brought together 56 participants, creating a vibrant space for parents, catechism students, and the youth to deepen their connections with one another and their faith.
The program commenced at 4 p.m. with an energetic series of icebreakers and team-building games facilitated by the youth. These activities successfully set a warm, welcoming tone that encouraged interaction across generations and helped the participants settle into the spirit of the day.
A central highlight of the afternoon was an insightful session led by Fr Agnel James sdb, the in-charge of the Nashik Zone Youth Movement. Fr James provided the assembly with practical guidance on the nuances of building a faith-centred home. He emphasized the pivotal role parents play as the primary catechists of their children. The session underscored the importance of families guiding one another to grow in a profound love for God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. His message resonated deeply with the parents, offering them a roadmap to integrate faith more intentionally into their daily family life.
The spirit of fellowship continued into the evening as the event balanced spiritual reflection with wholesome recreation. Parents engaged in lively relay games, showcasing their competitive spirit and camaraderie. Simultaneously, the FMA sisters from the Sacred Heart Training Institute worked with the children, guiding them through preparations for the upcoming Parent's Day celebration, scheduled for the July 26, 2026.
Reflecting on the success of the gathering, participants expressed their appreciation for the blend of learning and leisure. The Family Faith Fest proved to be more than just an event; it served as a meaningful reminder of the strength found in family togetherness.
As the program concluded, the attendees departed with renewed spirits, eager to carry out the lessons of the day into their homes and looking forward to the upcoming celebrations later this month.
