On August 7, 2026, Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul, Navi Mumbai, celebrated the Cultural Day of Class 2 with great enthusiasm and artistic splendour. The programme was organised with the objective of nurturing creativity, confidence, communication skills, and stage presence among young learners through music, dance, drama, and storytelling.

The event was graced by Mrs. Monika Bahl as the Chief Guest. Mrs. Bahl is a distinguished educator with more than thirty-five years of teaching experience and has been leading Study Hall – The Play School, the first play school in Nerul, for the past twenty-nine years. In addition to her contributions to education, she is actively involved in social service initiatives through the Inner Wheel and is known for her work with underprivileged and special children. Her inspiring journey as an educator, artist, marathon runner, and nature enthusiast served as a motivating example for students and parents alike.

The celebration was attended by Fr Dr Barnabe D’Souza,  Fr Joyston Machado, Catechist; Mrs Kalyani Chaudhuri, Principal; Br Royston Colaco, Vice Principal; Mrs Jyotsna D’Souza, Headmistress; Supervisors Mrs Mahek Khan, Mrs Reena Dias, and Mrs Lisa Dominic; and curriculum developer Mrs Cleona Quadras.

The programme commenced with a solemn prayer song, invoking God’s blessings on the gathering. Fr. Barnabe Dsouza and Fr. Joyston Machado paid floral tribute to St. Don Bosco as a mark of reverence and gratitude for his educational vision. This was followed by the formal introduction and felicitation of the dignitaries by the students.

 The grand finale brought together the characters from the stories in a vibrant concluding performance centered on the message, “Keep Reading, Keep Learning, and Let Every Story Come Alive.” The audience responded with great appreciation and applause for the children’s enthusiasm and confidence.

The highlight of the celebration was the thematic presentation, “The Magical Story Book.” Through colourful costumes, expressive acting, melodious songs and energetic dance performances, the students brought four beloved stories(Cindrella, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the beanstalk) to life on stage. The presentation seamlessly integrated learning with the performing arts and conveyed meaningful values such as kindness, honesty, courage and perseverance.

Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Monika Bahl congratulated the students, teachers, and parents for the meaningful and well-coordinated presentation. She emphasised the importance of reading, imagination, and holistic education in the formative years of a child’s life.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks presented by the Class 2 students, followed by the closing ceremony. The Cultural Day ended on a joyful note, leaving parents, teachers, and guests with cherished memories of a delightful celebration that reflected the spirit of Don Bosco education and the remarkable talents of its young learners.
