Kawant, April 9, 2026: DISHA Don Bosco, Kawant, organized a one-day seminar on Goal Setting and Career Guidance for the students of the 9th Batch of the BRIDGE Programme. This special vacation batch includes 130 students who have recently appeared for the SSC and HSC Board Examinations.
The response to the programme has been highly encouraging, as many students have chosen to use their summer vacation fruitfully by developing their English communication, computer knowledge, and employability skills. The batch began on April 7, while the official inauguration was held on April 11. The first few days were specially set aside for orientation programmes aimed at motivating and guiding the participants.
One such orientation programme was arranged in collaboration with the Dharmaj Kelvani Mandal Group of Colleges, Dharmaj. The seminar commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries present on the dais, invoking wisdom and blessings for the success of the programme.
Addressing the gathering during the inaugural function, Fr Mayank Parmar, SDB, Rector of Don Bosco Kawant, appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the youth. He said that such orientation sessions greatly strengthen the confidence and morale of students who are at an important stage of choosing their future path. He also expressed gratitude to the experts from Dharmaj Kelvani Mandal for travelling a long distance to guide the tribal youth of Kawant and surrounding villages.
During the first session, the resource persons from Dharmaj Kelvani Mandal—Mr Jigneshbhai, Mr Nainilbhai, and Mr Shaileshbhai—offered detailed career guidance to the students. They explained the different courses available after SSC and HSC, along with their long-term value and opportunities. They also helped students understand how to identify their interests, abilities, and future goals before selecting a course of study.
The second half of the seminar was led by Mr Hasmukh Christian, Programme Officer at DISHA Don Bosco. His session focused on the importance of setting clear goals in life. Through an interactive PowerPoint presentation, he inspired the students with real-life examples of successful people who achieved their dreams through hard work, discipline, and perseverance. He encouraged the youth to dream big, remain focused, and work consistently toward their chosen goals.
The day-long seminar proved highly meaningful and practical for all participants. It helped students reflect seriously on their future, make wise academic choices, and develop confidence in planning their lives. Through initiatives like the BRIDGE Programme, DISHA Don Bosco continues to empower tribal youth with knowledge, skills, and hope for a brighter future.
