Kawant, 17 July 2026: In a significant step towards uplifting the socio-economic conditions of rural and tribal communities, DISHA Don Bosco Kawant organised a Government Schemes Facilitation Camp at Goddha village, a border village of Kawant taluka, on July 17, 2026. The initiative aimed at linking underprivileged and needy villagers, including women and children, to various government welfare schemes and services.

The camp was conducted with the objective of enabling access to essential government benefits and improving the financial stability of tribal families. A wide range of services was provided at the doorstep of the villagers, ensuring convenience and accessibility. These included assistance for seasonal agricultural inputs, ration card corrections, Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures for widow and old-age pensions, Aadhaar card updates, and guidance for applications to Navodaya entrance examinations.

The programme witnessed active participation from neighbouring villages such as Goddha, Kanalwa, Gungaliya, and Rayasa Chikhli. A total of 130 beneficiaries availed themselves of the services offered at the camp, comprising 51 women and 79 men. The initiative proved especially beneficial for those who otherwise face challenges in accessing government offices due to distance, lack of awareness, or limited resources.

DISHA Don Bosco Kawant also ensured that no beneficiary was left out due to financial constraints. Free photocopying services were provided to those who did not have access to such facilities, thereby removing a critical barrier in documentation processes. This thoughtful provision was widely appreciated by the participants.

The camp was organised in the presence of Fr Dr Mayank Parmar, Rector of DISHA Don Bosco Kawant, Mr Hasmukh Christian, Programme Officer, along with the DISHA staff who played a crucial role in facilitating the services. Their coordinated efforts ensured the smooth functioning of the camp and effective delivery of benefits to the villagers.

Several local leaders and dignitaries graced the occasion, including the village Sarpanch, Mr Kunvarbhai Rathwa, former Sarpanch Mr Sundarbhai Rathwa, members of the Gram Panchayat, local leader Mr Nangrubhai, and the President of Goddha Yuva Vikas Mandal, Mr Vechatbhai. Their presence and support encouraged community participation and highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in social development.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Dr Mayank Parmar emphasised the importance of awareness and accessibility of government schemes for marginalised communities. He stated that empowering people through such initiatives can significantly improve their quality of life and create pathways for sustainable development. He also urged the villagers to spread awareness and support one another in accessing these benefits.

The camp concluded successfully with a strong sense of satisfaction among the participants. This initiative stands as a testament to the commitment of DISHA Don Bosco Kawant in promoting inclusive growth and ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the most deserving sections of society.
