An English Camp aimed at selecting students for the English Medium section was successfully conducted from April 22 to 25, 2026 at Don Bosco Chhotaudepur. The camp was thoughtfully organized to provide rural students with an opportunity to experience an English learning environment and to assess their readiness for English medium education.
The camp commenced with a simple yet meaningful inaugural session. During this opening, the children were warmly welcomed and clearly guided about the purpose and objectives of the camp. They were encouraged to participate actively and make the most of this learning opportunity. The atmosphere from the beginning was both engaging and supportive, helping students feel comfortable and confident.
Each day of the camp included two structured sessions of 45 minutes each, conducted by the English medium teachers. These sessions focused on basic communication skills, comprehension, and interactive learning methods. The teaching approach was activity-based, ensuring that students remained attentive and involved throughout. Special efforts were made to create a friendly environment where students could express themselves without hesitation.
The overall coordination and management of the camp were efficiently handled by Brs. Roston and Ananias, who took full responsibility for its smooth functioning. Their dedication and attentive supervision ensured that all activities were carried out systematically and effectively.
Fr George Carlos, Rector and Manager, addressed the students during the camp and motivated them with his encouraging words. He urged the children to participate enthusiastically and make use of the opportunity to grow in confidence and communication skills. His presence added inspiration and significance to the program.
A total of 52 students attended the camp, most of whom came from rural backgrounds, particularly from the Village Education Program (VEP). The camp thus served as a valuable bridge, helping these students transition towards an English medium educational setup.
On the final day, a meeting was held with the parents. They were guided about the admission procedure and given a clear understanding of the educational structure. This interaction helped build trust and clarity among the parents regarding their children’s future education.
The camp concluded on April 25, 2026 on a positive note. Proper arrangements were made for the students’ well-being, with breakfast, snacks, and lunch provided each day. Overall, the camp was a meaningful initiative that combined learning, guidance, and encouragement, leaving a lasting impact on both students and parents.
