"Mary was the beacon and strength of Don Bosco’s mission, inspiring him to entrust every endeavor for the youth to her care. Don Bosco regarded Mary as the guiding star of his mission among the young."
Marian Nite 2026 was a vibrant celebration of faith and youth, held for the young people of St. John Bosco Bhingar, St. Anne’s, and Don Bosco Savedi on August 22, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event took place at Don Bosco Savedi, filling the Fr Maschio Hall with joy, devotion, and youthful energy.
The evening commenced with the organization of groups by Fr Richard Burkhao, Sr Savita Parkhe, and the youth of Don Bosco, as participants entered the beautifully adorned hall. A moment of prayer was led by Fr Vishwas Pereira and the youth of Bhingar, elevating hearts to Mary, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by representatives from each parish: Fr. Vishwas Pereira, Fr. Richard Burkhao, Fr. George D’Abreo, and Sr. Valerie Pereira, the superior of Laura Vicuna Niwas.
The Marian games, orchestrated by Fr. Nathanael and his youth from St. Anne’s, were both enjoyable and profoundly meaningful, fostering a deeper understanding and love for Mother Mary. Fr. Vishwas Pereira further enriched the evening with a Marian quiz, providing insights into the life of Mother Mary as depicted in the Bible. Six groups, each named after titles of Our Lady, participated with enthusiasm and devotion.
Prizes were distributed with joy, and the Marian Nite concluded with a fellowship meal, reinforcing bonds of friendship and faith. Fr. Richard Burkhao expressed gratitude to everyone, particularly the core team who contributed to the event's success, while Fr. Vishwas Pereira thanked Fr. Richard Burkhao for hosting the event.
