On August 25, 2026, Don Bosco School and Junior College, Nashik, conducted a thought-provoking and value-based seminar on “The Purpose of Living” for the students of Std XI and XII. The session was led by Fr Leon Rodrigues, Member of the Management, Don Bosco Nashik, who encouraged students to reflect deeply on the purpose and direction of their lives.
The session began with a powerful question: “What is the purpose of your life?” Fr Rodrigues explained that life is not merely about academic success, a promising career, or material achievements, but about discovering a meaningful purpose and using one’s talents and abilities to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
He introduced the students to the three pillars of purpose, focusing on understanding who we are, what we are called to do, and how our actions can contribute to the well-being of others. Students were encouraged to recognize that discovering one’s purpose requires self-awareness, reflection, strong values, and a willingness to serve.
The seminar also highlighted the purpose of a student, encouraging them to look beyond marks and examinations and cultivate qualities such as discipline, responsibility, compassion, integrity, and perseverance. Fr Rodrigues emphasized that student life is an important period for discovering one’s strengths, building character, and preparing to make a meaningful contribution to society.
The session was interactive and activity-based, with thoughtful, value-oriented activities that encouraged students to reflect on their dreams, strengths, choices, values, and responsibilities. A motivational video further inspired them to recognize their unique potential and believe in their ability to make a difference.
The seminar concluded with the inspiring message that purpose is not merely something we find; it is something we discover, develop, and live through our choices and actions. The session left the students motivated to reflect on their goals and embrace their journey with greater clarity, responsibility, and purpose.
